A holiday on a campsite in nature is a good idea if you are traveling with children. After a stressful year of routine, work, and school, a trip to a natural environment will help recharge the batteries. In addition, it is mainly the kids who often enjoy themselves at a campsite in nature. And we know that when they're having fun, their parents are happy too. Today, most campsites have wonderful family-friendly facilities. Especially the campsites on the Mediterranean with swimming pools, slides and many activities for both children and adults.
The old concept of camping with only pitching a tent on a pitch is long gone. You can now enjoy nature without giving up comfort, which is appreciated when traveling with children.
Camping Rupit (Rupit, Barcelona)
Camping Rupit is located in the heart of the Catalan mountains, "Sierra de Cabrera" in Osona. The campsite has a special charm. It is surrounded by nature, legendary pine forests and holm oaks that blend with the camping facilities and make a unique place. In addition, the romantic village of Rupit is only a 5-minute walk away from this "lost" campsite in the middle of nature. This village is one of the most appreciated in Catalonia; it is a medieval village with old streets and stone houses.
We must also say that hiking enthusiasts will find a unique place here, as there are many fantastic hiking trails around the campsite. Among others, we must highlight the "Salt de Sallent" route, which borders the Rupit River up to an impressive waterfall of more than 110 meters high. Definitely a route that cannont be missed if you have the chance to travel to Rupit. By the way, it is a very simple route, so it can also be walked with children.
The campsite has different types of bungalows in nature and pitches for tents and caravans.
Which stands out most on this campsite in the middle of nature is the Bungalow TERRA: a luxurious wooden cabin with a jacuzzi inside. The truth is that we don't know a better way to enjoy this beautiful place.
Camping Riu (Sant Pere Pescador, Costa Brava)
Camping Riu is located in the north of the Costa Brava, next to the village of Sant Pere Pescador and in the heart of the "Aiguamolls de l'Empordà" Natural Park. This natural park is one of the most important protected areas in Catalonia. There are wetlands with more than 300 species of migratory birds (this is the second most important wetland in Catalonia, after the "Delta de l'Ebre"). If you love nature, you will enjoy this place and have fun visiting the different areas of the park.
Camping Riu is not only located in the natural park, but is also just 10 minutes away from the beach of Sant Pere Pescador with more than 6 kilometers of dunes and sand. The weather and the relief make this beach ideal for wind sports such as windsurfing and kitesurfing.
The campsite is located on the banks of the river Fluvià. They even have their own jetty at the campsite. So if you have a boat or Jet Ski, you can take it with you and go to the beach through the river. They also rent kayaks and paddle boards. To walk from the campsite to the beach, you can follow a path that borders the banks of the river, where you can contemplate unique natural landscapes.
This campsite in nature is made for families who love adventure.
Camping Cala Canyelles (Lloret de Mar-Tossa de Mar, Costa Brava)
Cala Canyelles is also a campsite in the middle of nature but it is very different from the previous two. In this case, the campsite is located between the towns of Lloret de Mar and Tossa de Mar, the two most touristic places on the Costa Brava. However, the campsite is very quiet even in high season as it is located outside the village.
Campsite Cala Canyelles is located on a small hill where you can enjoy one of the best views of the Mediterranean. The campsite itself is surrounded by legendary pine forests and vegetation. Special attention should be paid to the beautiful bay that gives its name to the campsite and is one of the most appreciated beaches in the south of the Costa Brava. Because of the beauty of its turquoise waters, the wealth of fauna and that it is the perfect place for snorkeling or diving.
Although the campsite is completely uphill, most accommodations and camping pitches have sea view. There is also a larger area for caravans downstairs where you can access easier and these are located closer to the beach.
