1. Carrilete II” route, from Girona to Sant Feliu de Guíxols.
First of all, one of the most famous trails in Catalonia, the “Carrilete” route. Best known for the impressive, charming landscapes and views they offer, along the Costa Brava.
The route starts in Girona and ends in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, just a few minutes from Camping Sénia Cala Gogo. This path runs for about 39 km from the ancient small streets of the old town of Girona, to the paradisiacal beaches of the coast, going all the way around the banks of the river Ter and La Selva.
First of all, we should mention that the path has very clear indications, but we recommend knowing in advance which villages you will encounter: Quart, Llambilles, Cassà de la Selva, Llagostera, Santa Cristina d'Aro i Castell d'Aro. This information can also be useful if a short break is needed, to calculate the time or if you prefer to skip a section.
Once in Santa Cristina de Aro you will find the old train station that connected the villages. This indicates that it will not be long before you reach the destination. It's an ideal place to show off, so don't forget to take a picture!
Discover unique natural landscapes by bike, through large green fields and forests that offer enchanting views of the surrounding mountains, such as "Les Gavarres". That said, it's an ideal route to enjoy the good weather during spring and Easter.
The route is fairly flat, without many hills, making it an easy route to take, so it's a great recommendation for families or cycling beginners.
If you are a cycling enthusiast like us, and you like those long routes, you will be amazed by the full path, which starts in Olot. It starts near our Sènia Rupit campsite and leads to Sant Feliu de Guíxols all the way through Girona. This makes a total of 98km! Only the bravest can complete this route to our Camping Cala Gogo.
