1. Cap Roig Festival

To kick off our top 10, we present you one of Costa Brava’s most famous festivals: the Cap Roig Festival. Celebrating its 23rd edition this year, the Cap Roig Festival is a pop music festival set in the 17 hectares of the Cap Roig gardens and castle. It provides festival-goers and artists with a unique environment to enjoy the moment. 

The Cap Roig Festival will take place from July 12th to August 16th, 2024, featuring internationally renowned artists such as The Corrs and Chris Isaak, as well as local talents like The Tyets and Estopa, to name a few. Previous editions have included concerts by Elton John, Sting, Lady Gaga, and even Enrique Iglesias.

2. Temps de Flor in Girona

Although not celebrated in summer, the Girona Temps de Flors (or flower season) marks the beginning of the fine weather accompanying spring, transforming the city into a spectacular floral garden. Girona Temps de Flors is an annual festival held in the Barri Vell, the Old Town district of Girona. Since 1955, the capital of the province of the same name turns into an open-air museum where thousands of flowers are displayed. For a week in mid-May, visitors can wander through the streets of Girona for free and admire the various exhibitions and activities planned.

4. Cantada d’Havaneres

Now let's talk about one of the best-known events in Catalonia. The Cantada d’havaneres from Calella de Palafrugell is a habanera music festival held on the first Saturday of July. Created in 1966 after a gathering of singers in the Can Battle tavern, its success led to its annual renewal in the following years. 9. Blanes Fireworks Competition

Every year during the second half of June, to celebrate the feast of Saint Anne, the town of Blanes organises its international fireworks competition over 5 days (from July 23rd to 27th, 2024). From the beach of Sa Palomera and its islets, various teams showcase their creations for 20 minutes before the dazzled eyes of the spectators. An integral part of Blanes since 1970, the international fireworks competition has increased the town's reputation over the years.

The festivities attract visitors from all over the world, creating a vibrant and joyous atmosphere in the city prepared for the occasion. During the competition, each evening is an explosion of colours and lights, providing an unforgettable show for families and pyrotechnic enthusiasts alike.

10. Porta Ferrada Festival
