The Castillo de la Trinidad is a place you have to see if you are in Rosas. You will find on 17km away from campsite Sènia Riu, so you cannot miss it.

 

This 16th century castle is located above the lighthouse of Rosas, on the Poncella point. The location gives privileged views of the entire bay, and for that reason alone we would advise you to go and visit it.

 

It is a military construction in the shape of a 5-pointed star, which complements the citadel to defend itself against invaders and enemies.

 

The renovation that took place was quite controversial, since the demolition and historical materials were not used, contrary to the Heritage Law. Cement was used for the facade, and several parts look very modern in design compared to what a Renaissance castle should look like.

Nevertheless, we still recommend a walk around the area for the views and the historic parts that remain.
