The town of Palamós is an obligatory stop if you are staying in the Calonge region. This traditional fishing village is an emblematic place on the Costa Brava and just a 10-minute drive from Campsite Sènia Cala Gogo Internacional. Every year more travelers come to stroll through the small streets of the old town, take part in nautical activities in the harbor or enjoy a Mediterranean dish in one of the delicious restaurants.

First of all, Palamós is a coastal town due to its strategic location. It has an international port where tons of goods are transported every year, but it doesn't seem like it. If you take a walk around the harbor area you will see giant cruise ships in the summer and you will also see the fishermen return from fishing. At a certain time, they all arrive to unload fresh fish that you might find on your plate if you go to a restaurant the same evening. With a bit of luck, you can see them return with fresh Palamós prawns, a famous product sought after by all gourmets. If it is a subject that interests you, do not hesitate to visit the Fisheries Museum, located in the same port.

From there, we recommend that you walk through two areas: the promenade and the historic center. The promenade of Palamós leaves the port and reaches Sant Antoni de Calonge, stopping at Torre Valentina, where the Camino de Ronda begins. So if you want to go for a walk, you can choose how long and then turn around, because there seems to be no end. On the other hand, there are the charming old streets of the old town, with the main one Calle Mayor. Walking through this area you will find many small shops and cafes and restaurants. It is the ideal place to buy a souvenir and eat a crepe. Another restaurant area in Palamós is the promenade and wall area (between Plaza Murada and Plaza de la Catifa).
